Full Drain, Warm
Drained with the engine at temperature so the old oil and what it is carrying actually leave, rather than a cold drain that leaves the worst of it in the sump.
Genuine Oil Filter
The filter is the only thing standing between the oil pump and everything the oil has picked up. It is renewed every service, to the specification for the engine.
Sump Plug and Washer
New washer or new plug where the design calls for it, torqued to specification. A stripped or weeping sump plug is an entirely avoidable way to lose an engine.
Filled and Checked to Level
Filled to the level the engine asks for and rechecked after it has run and settled, which on engines with no dipstick means reading the level electronically at the right temperature.
Oil Leak Inspection
Sump, filter housing, cam covers, crank seals and the turbo oil lines checked while the car is up. A weeping seal costs nothing to find at a service and a great deal to find later.
Fluid Level Check
Coolant, brake fluid, power steering and washer checked and topped, with brake fluid moisture tested rather than looked at.
Free Vehicle Health Check

Should I stay on the long-life service schedule?
In this climate we usually advise against it. A fixed interval with the correct approval oil costs a little more each year and saves considerably more over the life of a turbocharged engine.
Does the oil approval really matter?
Yes. The approval covers how the oil behaves at temperature, how it protects the timing components and how it treats the emissions hardware. It is the number on the bottle that counts, not the brand on the label.
How often should the oil be changed in Abu Dhabi?
Follow the manufacturer's interval, then shorten it for heat, dust and short journeys. We tell you what the car asks for and what we would actually run it at here, and the two are rarely the same number.
Is a long-life interval safe in this climate?
